The Truth
It seems as though everyday is filled with lies. People lie about random stuff that really have no meaning. But today i saw a movie called Ground Truth and it told nothing but the truth. I wish there was a way for America to see that movie so they would know the truth about the military and the Iraq war. Whatr i saw i just couldn’t believe it. Veterans tell viewers about how they are trained to kill. How they have run over Iraqi civilians just because. They have told how they kill people just because they looked at them wrong. They tell people how they have been injured in the war..but how happy they are to be home. Many are without arms, legs some with distorted faces. It hurts to see people go through things as such, but i have to realize without people going through things and being able to tell others, people will continue to go down the same path. We as Americans need to learn from others mistakes and stop looking at the fact that, that could never be me. But instead look, listen and learn to others mistakes and take them to heart. When people come into the realness that the truth is the only way out. We will be better off. If you dont have people in your life that willing to tell you the truth then get away from them as soon as possible!!!

Gun Control in Chicago
It is clear to see that gun control is a problem in Chicago. Being a former High school CPS student i have seen tha damage that is done with guns. This year there has been 20 teenage deaths this year alone. Many children are starting to realize the cause of these accidents. This year there was a Gun Control Rally. Students came together to help fight for the greater cause. But what touches me the most but also scares me is the fact the one students says
She said the recent deaths of CPS students have made her “kind of paranoid.” She tries to be hyperaware of her surroundings, and stays clear of any fights that break out nearby, saying some of the shootings have been the result of petty arguments that started out as “nothing.”
“It makes me angry, and sad, and I just want to do something about it,” she said.
It saddens me to see that children are scared to go to school. or to even walk home. Many worry about not making it to school or not being able to see there family after school. Currently befor school started for me in September of 2007, on of my fellow classmates was killed. It was 2 days before orientation…everyone was so excited to see everyone, but to come back and see that one of the future graduates wouldn’t be there..hurt. I hope that many children will come together and understand the importance of guns and more important..the value of a life.
